This study is based on a sub project of Rehabilitation Technology for Submarine Pipeline of national "863" plan projects, Submarine Special Equipment, to start subject research during the period of Tenth Five-year plan. At the same time, the study is supported by a sci-tech development project sponsored by CNOOC, jacket piles decommissioning and removal underwater cutting implement. The purpose of this paper is to research a tool which can be used to cut the launching of jacket (60 m depth, D = 48"~60") of the oil platform.In this paper, the worldwide researches of the diamond wire saw are introduced. After the analysis of the working principle, the general structure of the underwater horizontal diamond wire which is used to cut the jacket piles of decommissioned offshore oil platform is designed, with 3D structure model and mechanics model of the diamond wire being built. All the work provides theoretical basis for the design of power parts of hydraulic pressure driving system.The paper mainly focuses on the study of the hydraulic control system. The control system collectively performs the data processing and control by taking the PLC as a core. The MCU fulfills the functions of parameter setting as a input module and data display as a display. The MCU and the PLC communicate with each other on serial bus.The feasibility of cutting the seabed jacket piles with the underwater diamond wire saw and the rationality of the engineering sample machine are validated through the examination of cutting simulate jacket piles.The grinding mechanism of diamond string bead wires is researched through experiments and the microcosmic abrasion forms and characteristics are analyzed. The abrasion process and the rule of the string bead are studied through the examination of cutting the models of jacket piles. The relations of cutting efficiency of the saw, cutting technical parameters and abrasion rate are discovered through these experiments.
