With the rapid development of technology, the reliability of equipment causes an increasing attention. This article embarks from the actual needs of engineering, with an eye to appraise the reliability of high speed punch. The high speed punch mentioned in this article are designed and manufactured by some factory. The equipment breakdown in the course of work will result in the follow-up process be procrastinated. The entire production line will stop and cause great influence to the enterprise.In order to solve these problems, it is crucial to evaluate and research the reliability of the high speed punch. This article utilizes the cross-disciplinary analysis, introduce modern management methodology - Six Sigma to analyze problem. Firstly, utilizes FMEA to classify the failure mode and appraise the RPN(risk priority number). Secondly, according the RPN to collect a large number of field data and use Minitab to analyze and fitting them. thirdly, establish some models of reliability distribution to distribute the reliability index which proposed by the actual situation. Finally, choose a example part to optimize and use lean manufacture to build the equipment maintenance management. Change experience management to scientific management. Provide a scientific foundation for use and maintenance of the punch.
