In our country,Edible cactus is a kind of rising green food.It is not only a valuable medicinal material,but also an important food stuff.From traditional Chinese medicine, Edible cactus is cold in nature which could be taken by oral or external use.It has the function of activating qi and promoting blood circulation,clearing away heat and toxic material,reliving tumefaction and pain,strengthening spleen to check diarrhea,calming the mind and benefiting urine decrease swelling and so on.Modern medicine has demonstrated that Edible cactus has various functions of pharmacology.So Edible cactus was considered as "super healthy vegetable" and "perfect food which the nature give us" by the nutritionists and immunologists.With the development of the study on the edible and medical value of the cactus,the experts have paid more and more attention to its activities.At present,most studies on the Edible cactus are about its flavone.But studies about its alkaloids are relatively less.This study used ultrasonic to extract the alkaloids of the cactus.Through the single factor and orthogonal experiments,the optimal condition was that the ultrasonic power was 400W,the ultrasonic time was 12min and the alcohol concentration was 85%.The contents of total alkaloid of the cactus were determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometry and the result was 0.0696%.The chemical constituents of the alkaloids were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Conclusions:The content of alkaloids was rich.8 compounds were identified.The peak area of the alkaloids was 63.72%in the total area.There were high content of Hordenine,Benzamide, Benzeneacetamide,Tyramine,etc.According to the result of the analysis by GC-MS,we used the high performance capillary electrophoresis(HPCE) method to determine the contents of the Hordenine and Tyramine.And the content of the Hordenine was 0.0128%, the Tyramine was 0.0046%.GC-MS also was applied to analyze the differences of the alkaloids between the annual and biennial cactus.Result:12 compounds were identified in biennial cactus.The peak area of the alkaloids was 44.88%in the total area.And the content of Hordenine was more than the others.There were high content of Hordenine,Benzamide,Indole-2-one, 2,3-dihydro-N-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3,3-dimethyl,Tyramine etc.There were 8 kinds of alkaloids of the annual cactus.The peak area of the alkaloids was 38.60%in the total area. And the peak area of Hordenine is larger than the other kinds of cactus'.The contents of Hordenine,Benzamide,Benzeneacetamide and Tyramine were higher.From the GC-MS total ion chromatogram of the two kinds cactus,we could see that the biennial cactus had more alkaloids.And according to the size of the peak area,the content of the alkaloids of the biennial cactus were more than in the annual cactus.
