Study On Applying GIS To The Method Of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning

Geographic Information System (GIS) is a powerful tool in the information times which has been used in many fields successfully.Purpose: In this paper, combination between Environmental Sanitary Special Planning and GIS is studied, and a GIS-based method which can improve information management level of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning is wished to be developed.Method: This research is based on experience of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning projects which is on different level(Environmental Sanitary Special Planning of drainage area,province,city);In this research, Mapinfo7.0 and ArcviewGIS3.2 is selected as tools to design spatial database. The relational database management system is used to establish attribute database; Sanitary Planning Decision Support System (SPDSS) is studied, which concept model is built and design method is offered; Prototype design method and structure design method is combined to develop Urban Sanitary Management Information System (USMIS).Results: (1) GIS technology was applied in every sub-process of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning, such as investigation, sanitary actuality quality evaluation, data management, and planning options decision etc; (2) In this research, Mapinfo7.0 and ArcviewGIS3.2 were selected as the basic working system to design spatial data's structure and its organization, and to help to establish spatial database. The database made the users manage both spatial and attribute data timely, dynamically, and effectively; (3) Environmental Sanitary Special Planning Decision Support System (SPDSS) was studied, which concept model was built and design method was offered; (4)The GIS-based software of Urban Sanitary Management Information System(USMIS) was developed, and it was applied in Environmental Sanitary Special Planning practices.Conclusion: Based on experience of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning projects, a GIS-based method of Environmental Sanitary Special Planning was developed. Base on practice of research and development of Urban Sanitary Management Information System(USMIS), The GIS-based software of USMIS was developed, which was applied in Environmental Sanitary Special Planning of yellow rive drainage area, ZhengJiang city and DanYang city.
