The Three Gorges reservoir area is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in the binding site, is the economic development of the Yangtze River Valley from east to west to promote the development of key areas, the development of the reservoir area of the western development strategy, promoting the development of the Yangtze River economic belt has a strategic importance. Water environment situation in the reservoir area has been getting worse. Accelerate the construction of sewage treatment plants in the reservoir area is to protect the water environment in the reservoir area of basic national policy.As the water in the reservoir area of small towns with less water, uneven water features, it is not based on conventional municipal wastewater treatment plant design. The purpose of this task is to visit the Three Gorges reservoir area through the small town sewage treatment plant and the actual operation of the sewage treatment process of comparative analysis to identify suitable for the Three Gorges reservoir area of small towns of the actual situation of the sewage treatment process. For the future of small towns in the Three Gorges reservoir area sewage treatment plants in small towns across the country and even a sewage treatment plant design, waste water treatment process of the expansion project to provide practical reference, as well as for the development of China's small towns sewage treatment works related to technical specifications, Standards, regulations and policies to provide technical support.Based on the Three Gorges reservoir area of small towns own characteristics, examples of engineering, focusing on the analysis of BL water treatment process and enhanced SBR process (anaerobic-SBR).After that study: (1) BL water treatment process with advantages of high treatment efficiency, less investment and less land occupation is suitable for the wastewater treatment in small towns in the Three Gorges reservoir area. (2) Small town sewage treatment plants in operation to deal with often less than the design load capacity, to take corresponding measures to reduce the direct operating costs such as equipment, so that the intermittent operation or reduce the running time, to reduce the drug dose, and so on. (3) Enhanced SBR process (anaerobic-SBR) is designed to meet the water quality and quantity of small towns and large fluctuations in the deformation process, with good effect, and low operating costs, but the area of traditional crafts and more or less the same. It can be improved in their small town sewage treatment project in the promotion. (4) Combined with the characteristics of wastewater treatment plant in small towns in the Three Gorges reservoir area, the treatment structure can be used vertical structure for save the land.Nitrogen and phosphorus removal is the development of wastewater treatment processes. High treatment efficiency, less investment, low operation cost and less land occupation is the trend of wastewater treatment processes in small towns.
