When the lathe is designed, the machine tool drive scheme is ascertained, at the same time the spindle motor power must also be ascertained, the rotational speed and the torque of the machine tool working is met. The motor power will become the main basis to calculate machine tool parts and to decide to physical dimension. It is very important to reasonablly ascertain the power of motor, so that machine can give full load to the useful characteristics, and to meet needs of production and are often not fully loaded with the result that the electric power is wasted. Engaging at the programme of machining processing technic, the designing work of machine tools and bit tools can not be separated from the cutting power. Usually the cutting force is used to calculate the cutting power, or it is by virtue of experience, but the cutting force empirical formula, the experience may have a greater estimated error, which makes the rational power of motor difficult.In this paper, the tests is the basis of metal-cutting, by means of the data numberical statement of no-load current, floating voltage, cutting no-load current, cutting voltage, it studys on the relationship with the cutting speed, feed rate, cutting depth in the law.With two cutting parameters of the amount of feed and the depth of cut fixed, variable speed in processing conditions is tested, the cutting power is the exponential relationship with the cutting speed, as the smooth curve is nonexistence of the inflection point, so the cutting speed would be sub-discussed. With two cutting parameters of the cutting speed and the depth of cut fixed, it is the exponential relationship with the amount feed in the index curve; And then with two cutting parameters of the cutting speed and the amount of feed fixed, it is the exponential relationship with the depth of cut in the index curve.The speed of the parameters selected is usually used, it is the amount of feed and the cutting speed of the three factors and three levels of the orthogonal test, the application of MATLAB analysis of data, regression analysis function is to draw the cutting power model. And three parameters is the linearization relationship, and the index relationship is not contained in the cutting power calculation, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) is very notable, and has a satisfactory result.
