With the continuous expansion of international trade and the world's shipping industry being an important part of trade,Ship ballast water has become the dissemination of geographic isolation of the major means of pest. The damage caused by marine species with ballast water to the marine environment has been identified as a threat against one of the four major oceans by Global Fnvironment Facility.Risk analysis and early warning system are critical issues and the most effective and economic measures to prevent invasive alien species and becoming an indispensable part of bio-invasion control.Risk assessment, which supplies information for risk management is an important part of risk analysis. To facilitate the data management of risk assessment and avoid the complex assessment modules and much data processing,Risk Assessment System of alien species were developed in this study using Visual Basic computer language and GIS's secondary developing module-MapInfo.This paper discusses risk assessment methods and models of invasive alien species by ballast water.Researching and assessing the risk assessment system of invasive alien species introduced by ballast water in Dalian port.First,According to the investigation of 12 sites in the waters of Dalian port, related information about physical and chemical factors of this water were obtained, which provide the information for the following assessment..Then to collect about the use of Dalian and its major trading ports in the domestic environment and biological data, the information of the ballast water of ships, Local bio-informatics and the main environmental parameters of port generate the presentation and comparison of coefficient of Dalian Port from ships and ports to assess the risk of ballast water using similarity analysis in Dalian Port. The result will be displayed on the GIS plat.
