With the development of computer technology and textile industry, the application of computer technology in the textile industry is more and more universal, especially database technology and computer simulation techniques. As fabrics have a lot of specification parameters, it is very valid for database technology to deal with the information of fabric specification.Based on the classification of silk fabric's specifications, VB.NET and SQL are used to establish the fabric information system, develop and utilize the function of it. The system included a user management module, a fabric information module, a fabric histogram module, a color and weave effect module, a fabric simulation module, a fabric data analysis module and fabric comparative information module. The system provides the finished products specifications, weaving specifications, grey silk specifications and other related information. Besides, it realized the addition, modification, querying, deletion, printing and other operations. Referring to the inquiry, the users can make accurate query and vague query through the fabric specifications. Furthermore, the system also offers the preservation and printout module of fabric specifications. Fabric simulation of this system was achieved primarily through the organization chart of fabric, the graph of color and weave effect, as well as the weave diagram of fabric imitation. This subject discussed that common weaves and color scheme related of silk fabric can be generated in this system. Fabric simulation takes the basic theoretical of the mathematical model as prerequisite, and by means of computer programming to simulate the appearance of fabric. The analysis and application modules extracted data from the system in accordance with the size of fabric, mainly used to analyze the use of denier of the various types of fabric yarn ,the structure region of fabric weaving and the changes of fabric shrinkage, which may calculate, depict and comparative analyze comparative for relevant charts according to the different types of fabrics requirements.The development of the system may be an effective tool for fabrics product design, but also provides a platform to develop new products. With the further improvement of the system, the system can be used with a combination of internet, and this may make further improvement for the ability of application.
