With China's rapid development of economic and industrial modernization,the trend of large blast furnace in China becomes faster and faster.In recent 30years,that means from the year 1978 to the end of 20^th century,China has only built up three 4000m³-1evel extremely large modem blast furnace in Shanghai Bao Steel Corp.since China first import a 4000m³-level extremely large modem blast furnace to Shanghai Bao Steel Corp.in 1978.From the beginning of 21^st century until now,there are many Chinese metallurgical enterprises,which including Benxi Steel Corp.,Taiyuan Steel Corp.,Maanshan Steel Corp.and so on,begin to develop their extremely large modem blast furnace,further more,Chinese Baogang Steel Corp.and Bao Steel Corp.is planning to construct above-5000m³-level extremely large modem blast furnace. Because of the construction of these extremely large modem blast furnaces,the gap between Chinese steel enterprises and foreign steel enterprises has been reduced greatly.The coal gas generated by the blast furnace is roughly dusted by the gravity dust system first,and then the gas is further dusted by gas washing system.Usually gas washing is divided into dry type dust and wet type dust.Blast furnace always uses Bag Dust as the dry type dust and uses double-venturi and Lurgi - Bischoff type dust as the wet type dust.Dry type gas washing technology haven't been used successfully in 4000m³-level extremely large,modem blast furnaces in China,but Lurgi-Bischoff wet type gas washing technology has the advantages of little investment,small area needed, efficiency dusting,etc.,so this method has been more and more used in extremely large modem blast furnaces.The No.4 blast furnace of Bao Steel Corp.,No.1 blast furnace of Taiyuan Steel Corp.and newNo.1 blast furnace of Benxi Steel Corp.all use Lurgi-Bischoff wet type gas washing technology.Scrubber is the key equipment of Lurgi-Bischoff wet type gas washing system. In the construction of a conventional extremely large modern blast furnace,compared with the around 23 months'construction period of a conventional extremely large modern blast furnace,the 8 months'construction period of a scrubber is short,so scrubber doesn't take the main project time to be constructed,but in the overhaul period of a blast furnace,compared with the 6 months' conventional overhaul and 100 days' fast overhaul,the scrubber construction period is too long,and it will affecting-the overall project arrangement.Currently,China doesn't have the experience in-repair of a 4000m³-level extremely large modern blast furnace,and because of some reasons,abroad enterprises make the repair technique of 4000m³-level extremely large modern blast furnace as a technical secret,in order to not reveal the technique.There is no experience in scrubber construction technique during an overhaul period of an extremely large modern blast furnace,either.The research on a novel installation of a scrubber of an extremely large modern blast furnace will help speeding up the overhaul period of extremely large modern blast furnaces,and it also has the advantages of saving resources and beneficial to the environment,so that people can get economic and social benefits.At the same time,it's significantly for China to have the technique on the overhaul of extremely large modern blast furnaces,it also has the referential significance to other similar extremely large equipments.
