The thesis presented a CAD approach of designing a shoe last based on foot pressure distribution and the national footwear standards. First, the necessity of deisgn a shoe last based on the foot pressure distribution was introduced. Then the foot pressure distribution was obtained through experimental measurement. Based on it, three bottom surfaces of shoe-last were designed with different concavity, and insoles with the surfaces were produced and tested to verify the relationship between the concavity of the surface and the degree of relief of the concentration of pressure underneath the foot. With the technique of reverse engineering, a foot model was built based on the data cloud of a foot. A shoe last model was built based on the relationship between the feet and shoe lasts. Based on the theory of equal-rear-part of shoe last, the model of the shoe last was built as two parts: the front with different shape, and the rear with different heel heights. At last, a model of shoe last was obtained that was parametrically changeable with the pressure distribution underneath foot, the style of front and the heel height. At last it pointed out the shortcomings of the current work and the direction of future efforts.
