Disk shears is one of the most important tools in the manufacture field of metal plate. Due to the design, modification, preproduction are confronted for the Physical Prototyping, traditional mechanical layout has some drawbacks, such as long production cycle, high cost, hard to change. The design of Virtual Prototyping Technology-Based is to build the 3D digital model of all the components of Disk shears in computer, and combine the CAE to analyze the efficiency. Thus, we turn the test object from Physical Prototyping to Virtual Prototyping, which condenses the product cycle, raise the quality, and reduce cost.Variable Width Disk shears is the research object of this paper, we build the 3D digital model of Variable Width Disk shears through Pro/ENGINEER, sum up the data-interchange technology between the Pro/ENGINEER and ADAMS; analyze the mechanical properties of simulation of the Disk shears based on the Virtual Prototyping Technology, and use the result to instruct design.Three main points of this thesis have been listed as follows:(1) The main energy parameters of Variable Width Disk shears is calculated and fixed;(2) Using the parameterized design , build 3D Component model and Virtual Assembly model of variable width disk shears, which can reach the goal of Variable Width shear, providing a proof for the reasonability of structure design;(3) Produce the data of kinematic simulation, and lay the foundation of the Variable Width Disk shears to some extent.
