In this paper, a new generation of antibacterial agent-chitosanguanidine chloride, which was suitable for the application on cotton fabrics was synthesized. Its main raw material is Chitosan and dicyandiamide and it is non-toxic, environment-friendly. When treated on cotton fabric with the help of cross-linking agent BTCA, it can crosslink with cellulose to come into being durable antibacterial capability. Synthesis process of the antibacterial agent was explored, various influences on reactive yield and the application performance of the antibacterial agent were studied.The influence of reactive time, reactive temperature, monomer ratio on reactive yield through changing reactive conditions were studied and the optimum reactive conditions were: reactive mol ratio of Chitosan and dicyandiamide 1:5, hydrochloric acid concentration 0.3mol/L, reactive time 10min. The structure, physical and chemical performance of antibacterial agent-chitosanguanidine chloride were studied by infrared spectrum, etc. The cotton fabric was treated by "padding-drying-baking" process. The influences on finishing result of different cross-linking agents, such as BTCA, glutaraldehyde, glyoxal, citric acid were examined and the finishing processes of different antibacterial agents on cotton fabric were studied. The optimum formulation and technology was obtained by comparison. The GB/T 20944-2007 standard was used to test antibacterial property of treated cotton fabric and the result showed that the antibacterial rate of treated fabric can still be above 90% after 30 times washing. The result was very excellent. We also tested capillarity, breaking strength, feel, whiteness, dyeing uptake, DP and security of antibacterial fabrics, the results showed capillarity, breaking strength, feel, whiteness, of antibacterial fabrics had a little decline, the dyeing uptake changed at a certain extent, and antibacterial fabrics got DP performance.The synthesis method of guanidines polymer antibacterial agent was studied systematically and the conditions of synthesis process were optimized in the paper. The mechanism of antibacterial agent treated on cotton fabric with the help of cross-linking agent was studied and the treating process was optimized by orthogonal test. It is of practical significance that the synthesis and antibacterial application of chitosanguanidine chloride on cotton fabrics to speed up the production of environment-friendly textiles .
