With the world’s implementing regulations restrict the free formaldehyde content of the production sites and textiles, people on low formaldehyde, formaldehyde-free flame retardants and cross-linking agents have become increasingly demanding, the research has also invested a lot of energy. In recent years, cotton fabric flame retardant finishing has become a hot research.In all kinds of textile fibers, cotton having a combustion hazard, which is only 18 oxygen index, not only fast burning rate, but has a great oxidizing. In order to give this a reliable flame retardant fabric, comfortable and beautiful at the same time without losing its style, to cotton fabric flame retardant finishing, ensure the safe use of a certain factor.This paper describes the mechanism of flame retardant fabric, flame method, the type of flame retardant, flame retardant mechanism, domestic and flame retardant technology and testing methods, such as cotton fabric flame retardant mechanism for the experimental exploration of theoretical research. In this paper, flame retardant FRC-2 (N-hydroxym ethyl-phosphonic acid dimethyl acrylamide), a cross-linking agent for BTCA (Butane tetracarboxylic acid); retardant treatment process:Fabric pre-treatmentâ†' Second Baptist Second rollingâ†'pre-dryingâ†'baking causticâ†'alkali washing firstâ†'alkali washingâ†'early caustic hot water (80℃)â†'warm water (60℃) â†'*cold water washingâ†'dryingThe initial phase of the experiment, with a flame retardant content, BTCA dosage, curing temperature and curing time as a variable, the single factor experiment exploration showed that the optimum processing conditions for the single factor:flame retardant FRC-2 360~400g, BTCA cross-linking agent is 45~55g/L, baking temperature is 165℃~175℃ and curing time is 2-4min.Then analyzed by orthogonal experiments, the flame retardant treatment process to optimize results showed that the optimal treatment process:flame FCR-2 concentration was 380g/L, cross-linker BTCA concentration 50g/L, baking temperature 170℃, baking time for 2min. And based on validation experiments conducted to verify the results prove that this is the optimal process.In the final paper, a detailed study of the optimal retardant cotton fabric after finishing physical properties, compared with conventional flame retardant treatment process, the results show:the formaldehyde concentration decreased significantly reduce flame resistance, resistance to improve performance greatly improved cotton fabric wear ability.
