Mesh-printing is also called omnipotent printing, which allows printing on various materials, such as, plastic, textile, metal, glass, chinaware and so on. Although the mesh-printing equipments in China have been improved a lot, most of them are still operated manually or semi-automatically. With the advancement of technology and the development of society, the mesh-printing equipments with high-precision and high automation levels will be demanded by the market and will become the trend of development. Research and development on automatic multi-color screen printers will promote the development of printing industry as well as other related industries.In this paper, the status of relevant technology and development trend about mesh-printing machines will be outlined firstly. And then, the operational principles of the automatic multi-color mesh-printing machines will be discussed. At the last part an overall structural design of mesh-printing machine will be presented based on the design requirements.According to the overall structural design of the automatic multi-color mesh-printing machine, the designs for some of the key parts will be outlined, which includes the transport and positioning structure for materiel, the transport and positioning structure for printing platform, printing structure, orbital transfer structure for printing platform and vacuum absorption structure. At the same time the configuration of mesh-printing machine will be modeled dimensionally. On the basis of that work, build up kinetic model on its drive framework, calculate and analyze the driving force from the key parts of the machine, and choose the best electromotor according to its power and the load it can bear.Based on the discussion and analysis of the movement characteristics and the control system requirements, how to divide the control models for each moving part will be decided. PLC will be used as the main control hardware and the pictures of each module's structure in line with the principles for hardware design will be drawn. Meanwhile, according to its movement logic state transition plans for every control module will be outlined.At last, the movement of mesh-printing machines will be simulated using the software, 3DCreate 3.1. And then through visual simulation method the printer's structure and movement rhythm will be analyzed in order to optimize printer's structure and movement rhythm.
