The static stiffness of the grinding machine structure not only influences the machining accuracy and service life, but also restricts the exertion of the high-efficiency performance. Static analysis is carried out to the grinding machine by using the finite element (FEM) analysis, so that the weak link which prevents the improvement of the machine static stiffness can be found rapidly and exactly, thus to provide scientific and rational basis for the structural design of the machine. Meanwhile, it is of great significance in improving the product quality and ensuring the precision and ultra-precision machining accuracy.The research object of this paper is MGK7350 CNC High Precision Surface Grinding Machine with horizontal spindle and rotary table. After the finite element (FEM) analysis for the static stiffness of the whole machine, the machine static stiffness change in the range of movement during the grinding, and the machine static stiffness change under different structural layouts, we find the weak link that prevents the improvement of the machine static stiffness and propose the revision advices and recommendations. The details of the contents are as follows:(1)This paper gives us a description of the research purpose, development status of the finite element and CNC high precision surface grinding machine.(2)Using ANSYS software to establish the whole machine model for MGK7350 CNC High Precision Surface Grinding Machine and carrying out the finite element analysis for the whole machine.(3)This paper studies the static stiffness change in the range of movement during the grinding, and propose the suggestions for improving the static stiffness of this machine.(4)This paper analyzes the static stiffness change of the grinding machine that adopts medium-level column moving principle. Firstly, analyze the deformation tendency of the machine under different layouts by using finite element software. Then obtain the deformation rule through the deformation change values under different layouts. At last propose the instructive advices and suggestions of the layout design for this kind of machines.(5) Carrying out the finite element analysis for the changed machine, analysis result show that these change greatly improved the static characteristics of the grinding machine.
