Theoretical Review On Enterprise Safety Culture And Its Promotion

Enterprise safety culture is reflective of management ideas for accident prevention. And safety culture has important meaning to high risk organization practically and theoretically. A lot of researches indicate that safety culture has proactive influence on improving the organizational safety behavior and provide supportive information for drawing safety policy and safety measures. Safety culture targets accident prevention and probe into how those factors have effects on personal behavior, group safety behavior and organizational safety behavior, for example, the interaction between people and environment (social environment, natural environment and technical environment), safety-related values, behavioral norms, regulations and technologies. The other areas for research on safety culture include investigation of its intrinsic meaning and structure, survey method and promotion models.Firstly, this paper summarizes and comments on definition, research scope, and main indicators of safety culture and safety climate. It also analyzes the function and roles of safety culture in theory and provides a feasible road for management methods enhancement from the perspective of safety culture. Secondly, through analysis on eight popular kinds of safety culture model, this paper sums up a framework for conceptual components, survey dimensions and promotion for safety culture. Thirdly, through review on the present status of safety culture research and prospect on the future, this paper points out the urgent area for safety culture research. And it also provides the Countermeasures on promoting safety culture in Chinese enterprises from psychological, behavioral and contextual perspective. In summary, research and promotion of safety culture are beneficial to stability, unity, harmony and development.
