Magnesium alloy has the characteristics of low density,high specific strength and good electromagnetic shielding;with the advantages of less assembling,simplified installation and the ability of improving the impact resistance of parts,decreasing the cost of materials,tailor-welded blanks(TWBs)is widely used in equipment manufacturing industry like automobile.Combined both advantages,this paper studied the method and experiment on the preparation and stamping of magnesium TWBs including these items①There are three kind of magnesium alloy TWBs with the same thickness achieved from Altemating Current-Argon Arc Welding method,and a conclusion was got through mechanical property test that the properties along the weld is obviously well than that perpendicular to the weld.To AZ31-AZ80 TWBs,its tensile strength may reach 104MP,elongation 21%at 230℃.②The stamping process of magnesium alloy TWB cylindrical workpiece and mobile phone shell were studied by using MSC.Marc Finite Element Method software. It summarized and achieved the rule of weld migration during AZ31-AZ80 magnesium alloy TWB forming process as well as reasonable parameters.③The forming parts of cylinder and mobile phone shell with good quality were gained from stamping experiment.It is found that there is no migration of the weld from the same material TWBs,and AZ31-AZ31 TWBs is batter in forming than AZ80-AZ80 TWBs.But from the different material TWBs,there is a migration of the weld,which is consistent to the result of the simulation.④It also got the influence to weld migration caused by temperature,velocity, radius of the punch and die,friction coefficient,est.According to the result of simulation,the best parameters range were determined:temperature from 200 to 230℃; velocity from 0.05 t0 0.1 mm/s;radius of punch and die from 8 to 10mm.
