Based on the computer graphics visualization technology and the safety management of mine ventilation system-related expertise, the distributed control theory, visual programming tools and database development tools are used to design a safety management of mine ventilation system environment common graphics management platform and some relative issues are researched in this paper.Firstly, the essentiality and the status of the safety management of mine ventilation are described briefly. The application status of graphics technology in the mine ventilation safety management is summarized. Analyzing the deficiencies of the existing graphics management platform and combining the application features of the mine ventilation system in the graphics management platform, the characteristics, the main functions and the main issue of the graphics management platform is proposed. The distributed control theory is used to achieve the overall structure of the graphics management platform of the mine ventilation system. In accordance with the characteristics, the platform development tool is described in detail. The platform is based on ActiveX technology. The high-level programming language is used to develop the platform from the bottom. Microsoft SQL Serve database is used to storage the basic data of the graphics management platform. ADO database component is used to design a user-friendly database interface to flexible articulate other databases. The mine ventilation system of the graphics management platform can be integrated through the interface. In the function design of the graphics management platform of the mine ventilation system, the processes and the algorithm of the graphics rendering platform, views, operations and other functions are introduced. Based on the analyzing the formats of the DXF graphics file, a graphics interface format conversion is design to improve graphics management platform compatibility greatly.Finally, this paper introduces the application of the graphics management platform. It describes function and applications of the mine system map, network map and three-dimensional mapping, introduced the integration a graphics management platform with security monitoring system software. the graphics management platform achieves fan monitoring, fan control, relief and rescue command line in the underground.
