Since human society entered the 21st century, the economic and social sustainable development problems become the focus of the human society, that influence human's life and future destiny. And geologic-ecologic environments is the human's basic conditions of survival and development. But the human society in the process of industrialization is causing negative effects on the environment in the global scope, and caused serious pasture degenerate, desertification, surface-water and water quality deteriorated sharply. The environmental issues have threatened to human survival, human push themselves to a serious environmental crisis. In order to achieve the sustainable development of society and economy, when we make the resources development and economic construction, we should have overall consideration, planning and control of geological environment, and to use multiple disciplines and technology, many ways for geologic-ecologic environment construction and development provide feasible development and construction scheme.In order to realize the above goal must grasp the objective laws of geologic-ecologic environment, must analyses, evaluate and predict the influence factors of geological environment. So we must research collection, management, analysis and evaluation of the geologic-ecologic environment data. Geography Information System technology provides excellent technical platform of large scale, many indexes, facing mass data analysis ,in the geologic-ecologic environment and provides more effective way of the protection and restoration.Summarized the trends ,research progress and existing problems of Geographic Information System in the geologic-ecologic environment, Paper construct the overall design scheme of Evaluation Information System. And in the process of constructing the system analysis, design and implementation, research always implemented the object-oriented software engineering design ideas, and analyses, designed and realized the complete function and strong spatial analysis module. Finally, on MAPGIS platform and Microsoft Visual C++6.0 development environment, research developed a Geology Ecological Environment Assessment System (GEEAS)with friendly interface, strong analytical skills, intuitively results generation, and provides a high degree of integration, the visualization tool platform which for the study, and reveals the geological environment law.
