Using heavy rail produced by Wuhan Iron and Steel Company as the rough material, we attempt to find out the effect when the furnace atmosphere and the heat time is change using revamped droplet furnace in Wuhan University of Science and Technology's metallurgy laboratory. The samples are observed and pictured by University of Science and Technology's ZEISS Axioplan2 imaging optical microscope. We analysis the depth of samples'decarburized layer. We contrast the change of mass during the experiments with electronic balance, using the loss of weight method to analysis the oxidization.Measuring the depth of samples'decarburized layer, we can analysis when changing the atmosphere of each section at the given temperature. At the same time , considering longer heat time at established atmosphere impact to decarburization .At the same condition , finding the regularity of the unit lost of weight of oxidization.In the factory, we mainly test strong oxidizing impacting to the decarburization. When the heat process is change, the regularity of U71Mn and U75V's decarburized layer in given atmosphere are found out. The atmosphere condition of each section of furnace to get the minimum decarburized layer is found out.
