The study of gas-solid reactions is performed in order to investigate the impact of weak oxidizing atmosphere Ar-H2O-H2 on the 1 mm and 1.5 mm thick iron-carbon alloy sheet of 4.2 and 3.3wt%C.Based on previous studies and focused on investigatting the impact of atmosphere on Fe-C iron-carbon decarburization process,a serious of experiments were performed with the goal of quick decarburization and non-iron oxide by controlling bath temperature,gas flow and initial H2 content.A serious of orthogonal experiments have been performed to investigate the influence of bath temperature,initial H2 content and gas flow on the decarburization of iron-carbon alloy ribbon.And then dew point temperature and PH2O/PH2 at different bath temperatures and gas flows were figured out by measuring the wet temperature of decarburization atmosphere,and the impact of PH2O/PH2 on iron oxidization during the decarburizaion process were studied.It showed that the impact significance on decarization among the key Atmosphere factors decrease with the order of gas flow,initial H2 content and bath temperature.Treating time has most significant impact on decarburization.Raising gas flowrate can apparently improve the decarburization result when samller than 500mL·min-1;when water bath temperature exceeds 333 K,oxidation of iron take place,and dense layer of FeO appears exceeds 343 K.Suitable parameters for the decarburization are flowrate 500 mL·min-1,15% H2,bath temperature 333 K,and at1413 K.Atmosphere factor PH2O/PH2,plays a decisive role in the oxidation of iron at a definite temperature.The oxidation of iron take place when PH2O/PH2 exceeds 0.62,0.66,and 0.7,respectively,at 1293 K,1353 K,and1413 K.the decarburizaion restriction factor is inner diffuse of carbon when PH2O/PH2 exceeds 0.49.The apparent decarburizaion is first order reaction and it's activity energy is 131kJ· mol-1.
