The thesis analyzed the mechanism of BLEVE and the calculate method of the accident consequence. By taking the special structure and function condition of the waste-heat boiler into account, the thesis confirmed the reasons of waste-heat boiler BLEVE. By introducing a new parameter, the thesis modified the old calculate method and then formed the assessment mode of waste-heat boiler BLEVE. The thesis got several conclusions as followed:1. The main reasons of the waste-heat boiler BLEVE are acid cauterization and abrasion. Jet fire, pool fire, vapor cloud explosion would not occur after the waste-heat boiler BLEVE. The energy of the explosion would diffuse as shock wave.2. When the waste-heat boiler BLEVE happens, part of the boiled water absorb the surplus energy and then evaporated. The other part of the water as remain, but the temperature turned much lower than before. By introducing a new parameter, the old calculate method had been modified.3. Formed the assessment mode of waste-heat boiler BLEVE which involve four aspects: Confirming the accident mode, Choosing the calculate method, Analyzing the accident consequence and Analyzing the risk of the accident.4. Using the formed mode above assessed a waste-heat boiler BLEVE.
