Hot sinter vibrating screen is widely used for handling with blast furnace raw material in iron making process line, which works under very severe conditions such as high temperature, high-frequency vibration, impact loads, keen abrasion. Therefore, among the equipments used in iron making plant ,the vibrating screen's needing maintenance work is the most, and its working reliability determine the work efficiency of the whole production line. Vibrating screen box is a pivotal part of vibrating screen. Because of its working conditions and load characteristics, on the screen lateral plates, beams and other parts,the rupture failure occur frequently. Accompanied with the increasing of blast furnace volume, the hot sinter vibrating screen inevitably comes to be large-scale, and the strength problem of the large-scale screen becomes more prominent issue. The problems of poor reliability and short service life exist in large-scale hot sinter screens. Therefore, high reliability, long-life hot sinter vibrating screen development is a pressing issue.In this study, a 3184 hot sinter vibrating screen is designed with the three-dimensional design software PRO/ENGNEER. Using the commercial finite element software ANSYS, adopting the three-dimensional solid elements analyses of structural dynamics, thermal distribution, thermal stress on the vibrating screen is implemented. The correctness of analysis model, methods and results is demonstrated. The analysis results show: the structural resonance of designed screen will not take place under its working frequency; at some places of the hot sinter screen box side plates and beams, the thermal stress reaches a quite level, thermal stress is a factor that mustn't neglected in the screen design.This study has a great significance to large-scale hot sinter vibrating screen design in order to avoid structure resonance, eliminate stress concentration, lower mechanical stress and thermal stress, improve its work reliability, and extend its service life.
