The Research On New Outlook Of Environmental Diplomacy Of China

With the intensifying contradictions among the global environment, populations and resources, a global eco-environmental crisis is becoming increasingly conspicuous, thus posing a severe challenge to the survival and development of human beings. It is only by means of co-ordination and co-operation on environmental issues in diplomatic fields that we can properly deal with the global eco-environmental crisis which has become increasingly intense and will even threaten the existence and posterity of future generations. However, the policies in environmental diplomacy characterized of hegemonism and narrow nationalism followed by the Western developed countries have damaged the interests of developing countries and consequently intensified and complicated the contradictions between the developed and developing countries. It is just under the circumstance that the Chinese government put forward a concept of environmental diplomacy distinguished from that of Western powers.,which bears the goal of constructing a harmonious world and the principle of imposing separate responsibilities between developing countries and developed countries, and will paly a great role in building a harmonious world of enduring peace and common prosperity.On the basis of a variety of domestic and foreign literatures and the latest achievements in the academic world, this paper has made a deep systematic research on the internal implications and profound significance of China's concept of environmental diplomacy with Marxist stand, viewpoints and methodology as well as the way of integration of theory and practice and history and argument. This thesis includes three parts: (1) Emphases are put on the historical inevitability of putting forward China's new concept of environmental diplomacy by analyzing the current situation of global and China's environmental problems and the reason for the condition; (2) It begins at contrasting the basic difference between China's new concept and Western concept, then discusses that China's concept has rich connotation, and great influence on international politics, economy, cultures, safeties, so show us that China's concept of environmental diplomacy is the ultimate Way to solve environmental crisis. (3) Working for the common interests of all of humanity, the Chinese government practices the concept actively. At last, the thesis comes to the following conclusion: China's concept of environmental diplomacy is the guiding principle of protecting the Earth and building Harmonious Society.
