In the 21st century, with the acceleration of social development, energy saving and sustainable development come to become one of the themes of social development. Iron and steel industry, which consume large amounts of energy, bear an inescapable responsibility. Compared with steel industry in foreign countries, the instability of iron-making process is not only an important reason for excessive energy consumption in domestic steel industry, but also a huge threat to the safety of production. How to coordinate the various units in iron-making process and ensure the stability of production becomes an important way for further energy saving. As iron-making process is very complex with different time scales, it is really not easy to connect the various units and achieve coordination with each other.At present, there are many researches on local modeling and control, but seldom about the whole modeling of several units. Viewing of the current shortcomings, this paper selects the gas flow process in iron-making as our research object; connects the Hot Blast Stove Unit, Blast Furnace Unit and Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine Unit and gets the corresponding models. Major research work includes:1) Based on energy balance and mass balance, analyze the characteristics of typical units in iron-making process. Establish the mathematical models of Hot Blast Stove Unit, Blast Furnace Unit and Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine Unit. Then, design and set up the simulation module library of gas flow process by using the sub-packaging technology in Matlab / Simulink, which providing a good platform for further test and control simulation. Connecting the various units in gas process by unifying main parameters can facilitate the analysis of the impact on the production stability from different units, to provide assistance for the coordination and optimization.2)Based on the simulation module library above and combined with practical industrial conditions, finish the model validation. And on this basis, a number of simulation tests is made to analyze of the dynamic characteristics of the various units and the relationship between them. So that the interaction between the various units can be seen, allowing for coordination among the various units to provide more basis to ensure the stable operation of blast furnace.
