Study And Development Of Slab Caster Basic Design And Its Cad System

Slab caster is one of key equipments of modern steel continuous casting and direct rolling process. The basic design of a slab caster is the main task and basis of the whole slab caster design project, its calculation work is volume, and there are many aspects needed to be considered. The traditional, static, manual method of design and calculation can't meet the requirement of modern steel industry under high speed development and hot international competition. Therefore, it's a very important problem to study the basic design technology of slab caster and develop a CAD software of slab caster basic design based on the modern design method.In this thesis, based on the systematically studying and analysizing on modern slab caster design theories, the precondition of the basic design of slab caster was given, and calculation formula and parameters for the basic design are determined, referring to many reference materials and practical production experiments. The design principle of slab caster roller-layout is illuminated in detail. The slab cooling system, the calculation of slab condensation, the slab drawing out and strength are also explained and analysized, which are related to the roller-layout design. With windows as platform, using VB.NET as programming language, a progressive bending type slab caster basic design CAD software was successfully developed, incorporating with the secondary development of AutoCAD to get the realization of automatic output of roller-layout drawing. The function of the software is as followed:(1)Calculate and output the main parameters table of slab caster.(2)Calculate and output the roller-layout sizes table of slab caster.(3)Calculate and output the checking calculation results of slab caster.(4)Draw the roller-layout drawing of slab caster according to the final right roller-layout design result. Using SlabCastCAD as design tool, a slab caster basic design was implemental. The design results are practical and meet the engineering request. This work is meaningful to the progress of slab caster design.
