Grinding and classification is in the first place in mineral processing production. The cost of grinding and classification is the largest part, Efficiency of grinding and classification and quality of product affect the. quantity of product and various economic technical factor in concentration plant. Therefore, people think automatic control in grinding and classification in mineral processing.The paper introduces the working principle of MCGS, at the same time; it illustrates application of automatic control in closed-circuit grinding in PanZhiHua MIDI concentration plant. MCGS is a set of 32 bit MCGS, and it can work stablely in Iindows95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP and so on. And it involves many function, such as the manifestation of the animation, the control of flow sheet, the data collecting, the control and output of equipment, the network data delivering, and it can work together with many data delivering and output equipments, MCGS is applied to Petroleum, Electric plant, mineral plants, metallurgy.The monitor and control generated system mainly involves the whole interface, the single equipment control interface, history curve and establishing the parameter interface in concentration plant. In the process of grinding and classification, the main factor which affects the grinding efficiency, the overflow density of classification machine includes the number of original mineral, the degree of original mineral, hardness degree of original mineral, the number of rowing mineral, the number of returning mineral, the velocity of grinding machine and so on. The changeable factor brings much difficulty to the grinding and classification control. According to the mineral kind of Panzhihua MIDI concentration Plant, we distribute the whole control flow sheet into three parts; the first one is the volume of grinding machine; the number ofreturning mineral and the number of rowing mineral.
