Studies On Properties Of Antistatic Polystyrene Ether/Nylon 66 Alloy

We have discussed the effect of compatibilizer, flexibilizer and antistat on mechanical properties of PPO/PA66 alloy, and a kind of anti-static PPO/PA66 alloy with good mechanical properties have been prepared.1. After compared the effect of compatibility on PPO/PA66 alloy using compatibilizer SMA, g-PPO and compatibilizer A, we have found g-PPO leads in the compatibility of PPO/PA66 alloy. When g-PPO and compatibilizer A are added simultaneously, the alloy shows good mechanical properties due to synergetic compatibilization.2. Compared the influence of different g-PPO amount on mechanical properties of the alloy. In PPO/PA66 (40/25) system, the heat distortion temperature decreased but tensile strength, impact strength and bending strength increased with the increase of g-PPO amount. In PPO/PA66 (60/20) system, the heat distortion temperature and impact property ascended first and then descended, tensile and bending strength declined. 3. We have performed researches on the effect of SEBS, g-SEBS, SBS on mechanical properties of PPO/PA66 alloy. We have found the toughening effect of SEBS is the best in PPO/PA66 (40/25) alloy system. When the fraction of SEBS passed 20, ductile-brittle transition happened. In PPO/PA66 (60/20) system, the toughening effect of g-SEBS is better than SEBS, the tensile and bending strength declined, while impact strength ascended first and then descended with the increase of g-SEBS amount. The heat distortion temperature of 40/25 alloy system is higher than 60/20 alloy system.4. Find the ideal ratio of PPO/PA66 alloy, and add conductive carbon black to modify the antistatic property of PPO/PA66 alloy. We have successfully achieved PPO/PA66 alloy with volume resistivity of 108Ω·cm, which can be anti-static, but the mechanical properties of alloy fall a little.
