The polyacrylate stiffening agent in the market is mainly anion type, which could not cooperate with other cationic agent in one-bath process. In this paper, cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent synthesized by emulsification of dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride which had unsaturated double bond as the cationic monomer with acrylate monomer in the water. Besides, the fabric finished by conventional stiffening agent lack elasticity. In this paper, the cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent was prepared with soft-core and hard-shell's structure, which maked the fabric had the stiffening and elastic.1.The core-shell cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent was prepared by pre-emulsification technology, through emulsion polymerization in the water, by dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride and acrylate monomer, with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as protective colloid, sodium bicarbonate as buffer, hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid as initiator, Span-40,Tween-80,hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride as emulsifier, N-methylolacrylamide as cross linker.2. The composition and properties of the core-shell cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent were characterized by FTIR, TG-DTA, SEM, TEM, Zeta electric potential and particle size analysis.3.The experimental results showed that the ratio of core mass and shell mass was 1:2, dosages of initiator, emulsifier, buffer, cross linker made up 0.5%, 4%, 0.4%, and 1.5% by weight of monomers, respectively, and reaction temperature was 85~90℃, mixing speed was 350 rev/min. The core-shell cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent was milky white and blue light.4. Optimization process conditions of finishing the bamboo viscose fabric with the core-shell cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent was that: the dosage of this stiffening agent was 110g·L-1, the baking temperature was 160℃, baking time was 4 min.5. Bamboo viscose fabric was treated with one bath process of core-shell cationic polyacrylate stiffening agent and fluorine-containing water-and oil-proof agent, which could made the fabric had elastic stiffness and water-and oil-resistant. The stiffness was enhanced 95.7%, the oilproof and the waterproof was 7 level and 90 score. Meanwhile, these effect were would not dropped through 10 times bathes. All of these were similar with two bath processes.
