Stiffening agent are widely used in lining cloth,bags fabric,tents,advertising cloth and so on,giving the finished product a crisp style.Among the stiffening agent,acrylic polymers do not have the problem of releasing formaldehyde,so it has a good application prospects.The topic chosen acrylate monomer,using seeded emulsion polymerization process,the preparation of core-shell polyacrylate stiffening agent were prepared and applied to stiff finishing of polyester woven fabrics,giving the finished fabric stiff and flexible finishing effect.1 by seeded emulsion polymerization process,acrylic acid,butyl acrylate,and a small amount of methyl methacrylate were used as core monomers;methyl methacrylate,methyl acrylate,butyl acrylate,styrene and A small amount of butyl acrylate were used as shell monomers;ammonium persulfate was used as a initiator,sodium bicarbonate was used as a buffer,Tween-80 and sodium dodecyl sulfate were used as emulsifier in the aqueous phase polymerization to prepare a soft core-hard shell polyacrylate stiffening agent.2 experiments showed that methyl methacrylate:butyl acrylate:styrene:acrylic acid were 16:9:4:1(mass ratio),the core-shell weight ratio was 2:3,initiator,emulsifier,the amount of electrolyte accounted were 0.4%of total mass of the monomer,4%,0.4%,reaction temperature was 85?,the polyacrylate stiffness result was milky white emulsions and pan-blue light,good stability,acid and alkali resistance,freezing and thawing.3 stiff emulsions were analysed by transmission electron microscopy(TEM)showed,Results showed that the emulsion particles had core-shell;The structure particle size analysis,the average particle size was 135nm,more uniform particle size;observed by TGA to,Weight loss of stiffening agent was small at less than 340 degrees.You should pay attention to the temperature of use.4 The core-shell polyacrylate stiffening agent for polyester fabric stiffening by single factoranalysis and orthogonal experiment,optimized finishing process:Stiffness dosage 400g/l;Drying temperature 80 ?,time 3min,Baking temperature 180 ?,time of 30s.5 After the finishing process optimization polyester fabric bending length ranged from 1.8cm to 4.8cm.After washing 10 times the bending length remained at 4.2cm.The stiffening agent was as well as commodity finishing agents effect or even better.The scanning electron microscope(SEM)figure showed,the surface finishing layer of polyester yarn membrane stiffening agents appeared to form,after 10 times washing the polyester yam showed a scanning electron micrograph,yarn surface roughness,showing a clear chapped phenomenon whereby stiffening agent can speculate in polyester yarn surface film.
