Fiber placement technology is a new automatic manufacturing technology for composite,which means the compaction roller of fiber placement head delivers the certain positive press placing the fiber on the surface of rotational core to form a shell structure of composite. Fiber placement technology is particularly fit for the machining of composite parts with complex curved surfaces.Composite products have many advantages such as high specific strength,high specific modulus,good fatigue durability,good vibration-resistant ability,high manufacturability and distinctive designability of materials,so the equipment weight can be lightened and the work performance can be improved by using composite structure.At present,fiber placement technology has been widely used in aerospace fields in developed countries,but the domestic research of this technology is just taking off.Firstly, this paper design the fiber laying machine,the structure of this machine is gantry.It include the part of frame and the head of laying.Thereinto,the part of frame contain base, trolley, guide, pillar, and frame which is fabricated in accordance with the car. Through these institution, the machine can realized the motion from three different directions of X, Y, Z axis. In the end of rotating frame installs a laying head.The laying head composes of the following members:a feed reel member, a cutting member, a heat up member, a guide chute, a roller member, a tape defects detector member, a speed testing member and a take up reel member.As accomplished the designed for the structure of laying machine, this paper also analyse the law of laying, and calculated the placement lines of laying regularity. And the coordinate system for every movement of fiber placement machine is established,the movement transform matrix among every movement axis is determined and parameterization of laying movement is achieved.By use of the three-dimensional drawing software UG which have prominent advantages in CNC, programming the movement of fiber laying machine and the code of the motion for the laying head. This paper also try to use OpenGL that is base on the VC++platform to put on the entity modeling in the virtual machine shop, the process of laying and placement lines of parametric design is realized, and the movement simulation of virtual laying machine is completed,and the CNC code is tested.In this paper, the move correctness of virtual laying machine is tested with the cone mandrel as the research object.
