As one of the most advanced economy development and most great-hearted city in central south of China,all the people in the world focus attention upon Changsha's economic development.according to the double-quick economic development and the city outspread,appeared a set of contradictions in ecological environment,resource economy and demand against supply.This subject was based on the factual complexion of the society development of Changsha, Investigated and researched the statistical data of Statistical Yearbook of Changsha from 1999 to 2008,and then got the data of Ecological Footprint and Biological capacity; Used Ecological Footprint model evaluated the environmental sustainable development situation of Changsha City; Predicted the changing tendency of ecological footprints from 2010-2014 by analyzing the spatiotemporal changing rule and influential factors of ecological footprints of Changsha City from 1999 to 2008; Established ecological sustainable developmental models and solutions to promote sustainable development of Changsha City and provided for the scientific basis.The results concluded as follows:(1)The trend of Changsha city's ecological footprint was in rectilinear rise during the past 10 years. The results show that the per capita ecological footprint of this region increased by 62% from 0.846hm2 to 1.245hm2 from 1999 to 2008.(2) The trend of Changsha city's ecological carrying capacity was rise during the past 10 years as well. while the per capita ecological carrying capacity increased by 7% from 0.6381hm2 to 0.6808hm2in the past 10 years.(3)The ecological footprint was in deficit for the past 10 years. And the per capita ecological deficit increased by 127% from to 0.2841hm2 to 0.6459hm2.(4) The ecological footprint and ecological deficit of Changsha will expand continuely from 2010 to 2014 by the linear regression model. Per capita ecological footprint of this region will increased to 1.4hm2 and per capita ecological carrying capacity will increased to 0.6hm2,per capital ecological deficit will increased to 0.8hm2.
