Shoe last plays an important role in the footwear industry, it is the benchmark for style in the shoe-making process. Changes of shoe styles directly rely on the last of the modeling design, and directly impact on the quality of shoe last shoe quality. Because of the traditional method of hand-made shoe last, production cycle is long and processing is low precision and production efficiency is low, seriously restricted the development of the footwear industry. The rapid development of computer and CAD / CAM technology, makes the shoe last design and manufacture of automation to be possible. The shape of shoe last is irregular, but with the maturity graphics of the universal CAD / CAM system, and the emergence of standardized shoe last design and the accumulation of empirical knowledge, makes developing a dedicated shoe last CAD / CAM module to creation from scratch to be practical significance.The main task of this paper is to design a integrate CNC shoe last machine system that Integrates shoe last design,last NC programming,machining simulation and CNC Machining. Firstly for UG as a platform, application of its strong secondary development tool UG / OPEN and VC6.0, for shoe last design and dimensions standards as the basis, develop interaction of shoe last CAD / CAM module running on UG. This article uses the ACESS and ODBC interfaces, type and size of shoe last of the large number of key , such as the last bottom length, circumference, width, and lasts all body sizes, is made a relational database, solves well the problem that involves large standard size and relational size storage and processing. At the same time it achieves well standard sample shoe tree?s grading. While programming CAM module, in order to enhance the degree of automation, focus on the preparation process database to meet optimal parameters of different materials, different types and sizes, such as knives, cutting the amount of feed rate, spindle speed, etc.From the analysis of domestic and foreign high-grade digital control system design of the overall structure of starting, analysis of several open-economy CNC shoe last machine implementation of the system. By comparing the feasibility and advantages and disadvantages of various options, finally use PC + motion control card structure of open CNC shoe last machine system design. In the hardware, use PCIMC-3B motion control card, servo drives and stepper motor. In the software, use motion control card with the motion control interface function for NC drivers and upper management software.Finally, theory with practice, the results of this research is applied to the actual machining process kind of shoe last. The results show that the control system hardware and software design fully meet the design requirements, better solve the problem of shoe last from design to the problems of digital processing. Also confirmed that the shoe last CAD / CAM system's utility, can be widely applied to other CNC shoe last machine.
