With the development of hairdressing, the market demand of training head, as a kind of teaching aids, is growing. Training head has been nearly 30 years since it came into CHINA, but inserting hair as the key step is still mainly worked by hand rather than machine. Therefore, the labor intensity of the worker is high, and the productivity is slow. This situation extremely restricts the development and promotion of the enterprise producing training head.After studying the domestic and abroad current development status of planting machine, based on a kind of patents about manual planting machine, this dissertation redesigned its head model motion device which borrowed original inserting device. In the course of design, the new design improved the mechanism that can not complete automatic control, and increased the mechanism inserting hair on the head model top which will help to complete the inserting hair task of the whole head model. The paper introduces the mechanical structure and work principle of the automatically planting hair machine for training head in detail, and describes the design course of each mechanism of the head model motion device in detail. The design also constructed the virtual 3D model and finished the computer motion animation to validate the rationalization of the designed constructure. Among the summary and outlook, the paper analyzes the existing problems all the same and gives the resolving suggestion.Based on the design of the mechanical structure, designed the control system for the whole machine. The control system used ATMEGA16 of AVR MCU as the controller, and chose the control chip according to the motion character of each mechanism, and designed the peripheral circuits for each control chip. In order to control the planting machine automatically, the control system chose a few sensors to check and control. The control system also selected LCD to show the prompt information, and offered two kinds of alarm ways.The paper also drew control system schematic and routed for PCB with ALTIUM DESIGNER software. Finally, the paper designed the flow chart for the main program and subprogram, and gave the control program of the typical module, and simulated a few modules with PROTEUS software.
