Cone crusher is a general broken equipment which widely used in industry, such as mine, smelting, building material, road, railway, water conservancy, chemical industry, etc. Since the cone crusher development in our country is very slow, also the crusher efficiency is low, it is necessary to study cone crusher in-depth, as to improve crusher efficiency, save energy and reduce consumption in broken field.There are several reasons influencing crusher performance, such as crusher structure, performance parameters and manipulation parameters. The parameters also have different effect on capacity, product size, and power consumption. So this requires the establishment of multi-objective optimization model to optimize cone crusher performance.The paper first introduces basic knowledge and the status quo of performance parameters optimization about cone crusher, then analyze material comminution principle and the working principle of cone crusher, establishes a productivity model based on interparticle breakage and the movement character of the mass, also studies material breakage process, establishes a product size model based on population balance model, uses mathematics model to build optimization model of cone crusher, solves the cone crusher multi-objective optimization function with major objective solution, designs the optimization procedure with Matlab software. Finally, the paper builds a three-dimensional model of domestic-type cone crusher PYB1200, applies the Matlab optimization programming on the PYB1200 cone crusher, analyze how rotary speed, eccentricity, close side setting(CSS) influence cone crusher performance based on the parameter data and performance data before and after optimization. The cone crusher performance optimization model and optimization procedure in the paper can be used to provide reference data in the actual production; also can support the further research in improving the cone crusher performance.
