Elastic knitted fabric is a kind of knitted fabric that can be larger elongated by external force, and can be quickly restored to the original state. It has higher elongation (elasticity rate) and elastic recovery. Clothing made of elastic fabric can satisfy the following two purposes:(1) Easy to take up or off. (2)People can move and exercise freely. In recent years, along with spandex fiber production and application, as well as people for pursuit of clothes comfort, stretch has become one of the main functions of the cloth. Well elastic fabric can be flexible with the human activity, and eliminate or reduce the tension and the pressure. It makes people feel comfortable because it won't produce tight feeling. The fabric can achieve warmth retention property because of closely fabric and tight clothing by using spandex of high elongation and restore elasticity; Rely on the spandex in knitted woven to receive an abdomen, carry buttock, pretty back purpose with beautiful body fitness effect is contemporary consumer especially young people's pursuit vogue. The application of elastic fabric is according to the purposes to choose the cloth of different fabric structure and extension of elastic fabric.This paper introduces the elastic knitted fabric is plating stitch which produced in weft knitting machine. The elastic knitted fabric is popular due to its good extension. Elastic knitted fabric has the characteristics that easy to elongate and easy to restore and well elastic compared with common knitted fabric. As elastic knitted fabric after joining elastic fiber, the fabric itself produces retraction in elastic fiber prestressed and the shrinkage can make fabric initial state closer. Elastic knitted fabric is comfortable and considerate. It has made great development due to wearing fit and novel fashion style. However, the dimensional stability of elastic knitted fabric has struggled with the enterprise development in the weaving process of factory.The paper first compares several different elastic yarns'properties and then test tensile of spandex and XLA which used in the paper. Then determine a scheme of knitted organization. The paper introduces the weaving of elastic knitted fabric and its major organizational structure and knitting principle. The traditional elastic knitted fabric are using yarns that knitted by nylon packages ammonia or cotton or polyamide etc. This paper adopts plating stitch that elastic yarn added to fabric. Then it introduces several factors that affect weaving effect in weaving process and some problems and solutions.From the geometric structure knitted dimensional change is mainly fabric density change and elastic knitted dimension stability is composed of stitch length, diameter, yarn dyeing and finishing etc, and then makes knitted internal structure change and further influence size. This paper makes dry relaxation and wet relaxation and full relaxation and bleaching and heat setting respectively. Then it makes comparison of the dimensional change of fabric after several treatments.In order to further study on the mechanism of elastic knitted dimension stability, the subject using two factors that temperature and time and each factor take three levels to make orthogonal experiment using dimensional changes after heat setting. Then obtains the optimal fabric thermosetting process and helps to reduce the defect rate and cost.To determine which temperature and dry time is more stable after heat setting washing is necessary to get size changes after washing. We can also use the orthogonal experiment, using two factors of temperature and time and each factor takes three levels. Then analyses the result of the experiment and it is concluded the influence degree of various factors on finishing effect. It is also concluded the most appropriate temperature and time in fabric dry-heat setting.
