Research On Evaluationand Comparison Of Properties And Handle Of Bast Fabric

Due to the strong stiffness of fibrilia, rough handle and conspicuous itchy effect of its fabic, the spread of bast fabric is restricted. The past research mainly concentrated on the modification of fibrilia, the itchy effect and the antibacterial property of bast fabric, while there were few research regarding the comprehension eavalution on the interweave of fibrilia with other fiber, the performance, the handle and the subjective wearing comfort eavaluation. In this paper, the difference in performance, handle, wearing comfort among different kinds of bast fabrics were studied, and the effect of bast fabric's interweave with cotton on performance, the handle and wearing comfort was discussed as well.Firstly, based on the mass literature both at home and abroad, the current development situation and the key point of this study, the fabics for experiment and the experimental program were determined. Secondly, the appearance and comfort property test. was carried out. Sixteen basic mechanical property indexes incluing streching, cut, bending, compression, surface property, thickness and weight were tested by the KES-F instrument under low loads.Then clothes made of these fabics were evaluated according to wearing test. Finally, the performance and handle of bast fabics were analyzed comprehensively by analytical hierarchy process. The main conclusion of this paper are as follows:According to the comprehensive evalution on performance, the synthesis appraisal of linen fabic is superior to that of ramie fabric, the ramie-cotton interwoven fabic surpasses that of ramie fabric slightly and cotton fabric obviously.According to the fabric touch style comprehensive evaluation, the appraisal of linen fabric surpasses that of the ramie and hemp fabic.The cotton fabic appraisal is superior to that of ramie-cotton interwoven fabric and the ramie fabic appraisal is the worst.According to the wearing comfort trial, the overall comfortableness of linen fabric and hemp clothes surpasses the ramie clothes, the cotton fabric surpasses the ramie-cotton interwoven fabic slightly, and ramie fabric obviously.According to the massive experiments in this paper, the interwoving of fibrilia and cotton fibre improved the handle and wearing comfort and preserved the good performance of bast fabic at the mentime. On the basis of fibrillia's interwoving with other fibres, the improvement on performance, handle and wearing comfort of bast fabic were studied. This paper would be expected to provide an idea for further study on bast fabric.
