As a crucial component of engine, crankshaft makes a significant influence to the whole engine. By improving the surface quality of crankshaft, the overall performance of crankshaft can be increased notably, the noise of engine can be reduced, while the service life can be extended. At present, finishing processing of large and medium-sized crankshaft all over the world are still steel brush by hand and by abrasive belt polishing, and the abrasive belt polishing machine and abrasive belt need to be import. At the same time, abrasive belt polishing process can do only on cylindrical surface of crankshaft, but not for the sides of crankshaft and other surface. Moreover, none of machining efficiency, quality and cost of abrasive belt polishing is ideal. The appearance and perfect of the equipment of barrel finishing for crankshaft solve the large and medium-sized crankshaft finishing problems and fill the vacancies on the equipment and technology. After barrel finishing to large and medium-sized crankshaft, synthetically surface quality is improved, surface physics mechanics function is improved, the cleanliness meet the design and use requirements.Started from analysis various of barrel finishing technology, the thesis has studied the principle of horizontal barrel finishing process, at the same time analyzed the grinding trajectory of any point on the connecting rod journal surface of the crankshaft connecting rod journal surface and the cutting speed of the grinding block, establishes the trajectory equations, moreover, the thesis explores the effect of different grinding blocks and different grinding agent on the crankshaft parts barrel finishing; On the basis of this, by way of the dynamic simulation of single grinding blocks for horizontal barrel finishing, analyses the variation of position and stress on surface of the crankshaft, find out the reason of eccentric wear phenomenon about the crankshaft connecting rod journal from the variation within the material of crankshaft, and propose the measures to improve the eccentric wear phenomenon.The thesis analyzed the related technologies and equipment types about barrel finishing for crankshaft. At the same time, the feasibility of the barrel finishing simulation was explored. It build a new platform to further develop and lay the foundation for moving forward of the process.
