Trichloroethylene(TCE) can weaken neurological and immune function of organisms. In recent years, iron has been widely used in the restoration of TCE contaminated sites for it's strong reduction and wide variety of resources. Researching on reduction effect of TCE by iron has important theoretical significance to carry on the research of the areas polluted by TCE.(1) The optimum reaction condition of TCE treated by iron was determined by the experiment in laboratory:iron pickled by 0.05mol/L hydrochloric acid, iron content 0.04g, iron particle size of 0.35~0.83mm, reaction temperature 35℃, shaking speed 200r/min, the solution pH of 7.(2) The reaction mediums such as Fe/C, C, Fe/C/Cu and Fe/Cu were choosen in the study. Both in Fe/C and C system, predominant role was carbon adsorption. The original cell formed by copper and iron increased the degradation rate of TCE. Fe/C/Cu had the best effect for carbon adsorption and the promotion of copper.(3) Granular activated carbon and the mixture of iron and quartz sand were chosen in device remediation. When the solution flowed through the activated carbon column, the concentration of TCE decreased rapidly.Although processing time of iron was longer than it of carbon, and mechanism of iron was complicated than it of carbon, the removal effect of iron was as good as it of carbon.(4) Fe, Fe/Cu, air stripping, ozonation and ozone combined with hydrogen were choosen to treat DCE may produced in treating process. The three removal methods later were better because of its own volatile.
