The collectors of fatty acids have still been applied to the industry of the flotation of phosphate ores. But such collectors have some flaws, in that case, for a long time, the majority of scholars has been dedicated to the development of new highly phosphate ores collectors. In the paper, the methods of causing a modified action with copper sulfate and leading into new functional group, which were used synthesized new collectors of the flotation of phosphate ores. The capability of the new collectors had been inspected by comparing them and sodium oleate in the performance of flotation. The function mechanism among the minerals and flotation drugs had been studied with the way of IR and academic caleulation of solution chemistry.The result of the fatty acid collector modified by metal ions, in comparison with sodium oleate, showed that sodium oleate modified by copper sulfate was the best kind of collector. And it showed that rosin sodium and modified sodium oleate were matched by 1:3 inquality was the best collector and the effect of it was better than sodium oleate. The paper tested the effects of grinding fineness and pH values on the flotation target. The results showed that when solution pH is about 9.5, there was the best flotation result of collophanite and the grinding time was 6min, the optimum grinding size in the low grade collophanite was 97.27%-0.074mm. When using the technological process which was confirmed as one roughing separation,one cleanings,one scavenging and with the total usage of chemical agents is Na2CO3 5kg/t,Na2SiO3 3kg/t,collector 1.5kg/t can get the good recovery level. Infrared spectrum showed that modified collector had significantly improved the selective ability and adsorption of it on the surface of collophanite belonged to physical and chemical types, but the chemical one was in the highest flight. The result of synthesizing MES, compared it with sodium oleate in flotation performance, showed the MES was prepared by esterification, sulfonation and neutralization through using oleic acid as raw material which had nearly the same flotation ability as the sodium oleate in the flotation tests. The selectivity and the anti-hard water ability of MES were better than sodium oleate and were less affected by Ca2+, Mg2+. The best solution pH is about 9 when using MES. The collecting power of MES was worse and the dosage of it was more in order to obtain the same effect as the sodium oleate, which led to increasing of flotation foam and was harmful to the flotation of phosphate ores.Through the preparation of the new type of collectors, this thesis showed that it, in comparison with sodium oleate, has a certain degree of improvement in performance, in which the fatty acid collector modified by metal ions was better. The ideas used in mineral processing industry had practical significance in the preparation of the new collectors.
