With a large and poor quality of iron ore in china, the iron ore beneficiation technology research plays a vital role in improving the market competitiveness of the steel industry. Poor quality of iron ore for the current situation, the state attaches great importance to research on mineral processing technology.Flotation is considered as an important achievement in mineral processing in20th century. Reagents are key factors in flotation and determine the effect of flotation. Most importantly, the existing flotation reagents have a common characteristic that the flotation requrire high temperature, such as in Qidashan Concentrator of Angang Steel Company Limited, the temperature is33℃, which can’t reach the requirements of energy conservation and emissions reduction. This paper aims to develop a low temperature flotation collector, to reduce costs and save energy.By exploration, we put amino at the a-position of fatty acid, and study its synthesis method and the collection properties.Under laboratory conditions, Usinge laurel acid as raw materials, in certain temperature and time conditions, the writer accomplish the DLJ collector through bromination and amination. Then we detect it, analysis the structure characteristics and Calculate.Bonding atom electronegativity in the polar group and the hydrophobicity in the non-polar group of the collector molecule.In order to study the collecting capability of DLJ collector, research was separately performed with the hematite and quartz single minerals, artificial mixture ore and mixed magnetic fine from Qidashan Concentrator.In the single mineral trials, the recovery of quartz and hematit both can be above99.5%.In the flotation test of artificial mixture ore, the positive flotation results are concentrate grade67.32%, tailing grade.3.48%, concentrate recovery95.14%; the reverse flotation results are concentrate grade67.86%, tailing grade2.59%, concentrate recovery94.45%.In addition,the actual mineral flotation reached concentrate grade63.81%, recovery89.71%, tailing grade10.02%at30℃by one roughing. The open and closed circuit test both got good results.According to the dynamic potential of mineral surface and Determination results of infrared spectrometry, we analyze the reaction mechanism separately between the DLJ collector and the components of mineral.By the summaries of the reaction mechanism,the auther got the separation principle to the mineral by the DLJ collector, so its collector performance was analyzed.The research showed that the modified-synthesis-fatty-acids new collector DLJ achieves the desired effection, which reduced the flotation temperature, don’t need to add any activator and can reduce of collector consumption, increase the economic benefit.
