Because of spiral bevel gears' feature, such as the high carrying capacity, the big overlap coefficient, the high stability, the low noise and vibration, spiral bevel gear is widely used on the complicated transmission machine, such as the automobile, the airplane, the ship, and the engineering machine. The geometry characteristic and the engagement process and the parameter calculation of spiral bevel gears are very complicated. Many test-cutting and machine adjusting is necessary for getting a pair of spiral bevel gear which wasted materials and increased the production cycle which cause high cost. in this paper,the manufacturing process of spiral bevel gears is simulation. we can calculate the cutter's movement track and manufacturing gears in computer. the CNC machine parameters and the NC program can be tested and optimized. test-cutting and machine adjusting can be reduced. Therefore, It's of guiding significance for manufacturing spiral bevel gear.In this paper, Geometric model and mathematical model of the CNC milling gear machine is established. According to the cutting machining principle of spiral bevel gear and the relationship of coordinate system, the cutter location spiral bevel gear NC machining is calculated.In this paper, according to the cutting machining principle of spiral bevel gear, the manufacturing process of spiral bevel gears is simulated based on SolidWorks using VB programming language. Continuous cutting process of spiral bevel gear is divided into much time, each time Boolean subtraction operation between the workpiece and the cutter is completed in SolidWorks. We can cut a tooth by constantly calculating. Test-cutting and machine adjusting in computer was realized which is helpful to manufacturing.
