With the development of science and technology, especially computer technology, it provides a great help to improve production efficiency in all walks of life. The virtual prototype technology of CAE to develop and improve rotary press, makes improve production efficiency, shorten the production cycle, reduce production cost and reduce manpower resources inputs.The subject establishes a simulation model of cam drive system of a certain type rotary press to the paper sector according to Changsheng Group. Using virtual prototype technology analysis the simulation model of cam drive system, finding out problems in the simulation model, so as to establish the optimized design goal and constraint, thereby, make the optimized design of cam drive system in order to make the performance indicators best and the system operates smoothly. The data from the simulation analysis and optimization design process will provide important reference information in the physical sample of production and manufacture, reflecting the superiority of the virtual manufacturing technology. This subject mainly does the following three aspects:(1),Using Solidworks software establishes cam drive system of a certain type rotary press to the paper sector and makes the interference testing, and then imported into ADAMS software to simulate, it mainly analysis the influence of the gap on the follower angle acceleration and the contact force between cam and follower;(2),According to the simulation analysis results, the cam drive system is parametric established in the ADAMS and defined the design variables, and then design study and optimization for these design variables, the design study studies the influence of the various design variables to the optimal goal and the optimization calculates the best value of all the design variables when the optimal goal is calculated taking the value, so as to achieve the purpose to optimize design the cam drive system;(3),In order to achieve the cam drive system operation stably and ensure the premise of the cam drive system follower Angle acceleration continuous, it calculates inversely the profile of cam, using interpolation method based on cubic NURBS curve. Firstly, it calculates the type point of the profile of cam, and then calculates inversely the control point according the type point. Lastly, using MATLAB software fits and optimizes the profile of the cam.By this subject studying, it obtains a lot of data through the simulation analysis and optimization design using virtual prototype technology, providing an important reference for manufacturing cam drive system of a certain type rotary press to the paper sector, effectively promoting virtual prototype technology application and popularization in industrial production.
