With modern industrial products to keep the light, thin, short, small direction of development, its composition has become increasingly smaller, and the machining precision of small holes has become more sophisticated, so the difficulty of processing is also rising, processing technology requirements of the hole has become higher. Ultrasonic vibration drilling is a composite processing methods of new type, the method is that the continuous cutting of the normal drilling process transforms into the pulsed intermittent cutting of ultrasonic vibration drilling , then ultrasonic vibration drilling on small hole displays a very well process effect, and significantly improves product quality and efficiency of processing.In this paper, experimental study on small hole power ultrasonic vibration drilling of AZ91D magnesium alloy castings was started, doing pilot study research the process effect and the process parameter of small hole power ultrasonic vibration drilling of AZ91D magnesium alloy castings. The main research summarized as follows:First, this paper research the mechanism of ultrasonic vibration drilling from the kinematics, ultrasonic vibration drilling can improve the processing accuracy and surface quality of magnesium alloy AZ91D casting in theoretical analysis, and study the average drilling force of power ultrasonic vibration drilling the relationship with Amplitude, feed speed, static load, quality and other parameters.Second, the needed tools on ultrasonic vibration drilling do some finite element analysis, whether selected twist drill tool is consistent with the work requirements by analysis and comparison? By the Third Wave Systems AdvantEdge simulation software, processing of Ultrasonic Vibration Drilling does some finite element numerical simulation, which reveals the changed condition of the cutting force and temperature in ultrasonic vibration drilling of magnesium alloy.Third, by the contrast tests between vibration drilling ultrasonic and ordinary drilling, comparing to the hole straightness finished products, expanding the amount of holes, the burr height and the surface roughness reveal and verify that ultrasonic vibration drilling of AZ91D magnesium alloy material can get the Good quality work-piece; by a single factor experiment of ultrasonic vibration drilling, it can get the relationship of roughness with process parameters amplitude, feed speed and speed in ultrasonic vibration drilling of the AZ91D magnesium alloy die-casting.
