The Research Of Color Matching Between Paper Digital Proofing And Soft Proofing

With the development of proofing technology and color management, realizing'what we see is what we get is the research focus of cross-media color output. This paper started from the color matching between soft proofing and paper digital proofing to realize the simulated matching between them.Firstly, choose eMac screen and five kinds of paper acted as the media for soft proofing and paper digital proofing to design the color matching experiment based on the different presenting color principle, Secondly, IT8.7/3 (including 928 color patches) and CMY by designed were the reference color. Analyze the effect of matching by applying color management in Photoshop and Profile Maker was the third step. Finally, on the one hand, analyse the color appearance using color appearance model, and on the other hand, analyse the matching between paper digital proofing and soft proofing by applying gray relevance, deviation analysis, RMS error and so on.Results showed that there were obvious differences between soft proofing and digital proofing. Such as lightness, brightness, chromo, colorfulness, hue angle, saturation. The visual sense about the hue of CMY was a little difference which was regarded as on kind of color. The deviation diversity between paper digital and soft proofing was Q?C?M?J?S?H. Q had the worse matching deviation, and then C, M, J, S a bit better, H was the best. The material of proofing influence the color matching between the two kinds of proofing way. The calibratation of display and the stability of it had impact on the soft proofing, paper properties affected the paper digital proofing. They had influence on the cross-media color matching simultaneously.The innovation of this issue mainly reflected on the degree of cross-media color matching between paper digital proofing and soft proofing, and the paper properties impacting on paper digital proofing. This paper quantized the approaching degree in cross-media color matching, synthetically applied more statistics ways to express the color appearance, and synthetically evaluated the effect of color matching with new presentation. Furthermore, this experiment found that paper properties had influence on color layout with gray relevance and at the same time the relevance coefficient was presented by different mathematics ways.This paper discussed the color matching between paper digital proofing and soft proofing, and got a periodicity achievement. It had academic meaningful and practical value for soft proofing actually reacting the reproduction character of image on paper and promoting the application of soft proofing in paper printing.
