Resin matrix composite material, which is the representative of modern composite materials, has been widely used in industrial areas and people's daily life. But the design process of composite materials is far different from traditional metal component design. It has features of being influenced by many factors, needing to take semi-empirical design methods, and designed by Modular test verification. To take full advantages of the high performance composite materials component, we must carry out in-depth analysis of its design method, thus giving a reasonable way to make the design more intelligent. Therefore, we will take case-based reasoning technology to the resin matrix composite component design in this article. Based on the analysis of the research results of case-based reasoning system and composite materials design software domestic and abroad, we give case-based reasoning component resin-based composite materials design method. The research work has been done as follow:Based on composite components modular test verification methods, combined with the general design process, we proposed overall framework of case-based composite materials component design system.According to composite materials component object classification and characteristics of the content, knowledge object model, distinguishing from the traditional object model, has been established. Instance object has been expressed by use this model, and establish method of composite materials component has been given, which makes the instance library can be expanded.We researched the index structure of composite materials component cases and according to the level and content of the index structure, composite materials component cases similarity retrieval algorithm of similarity-based has been given. The method gives an initial choose based on the instance of the library index structure, and then uses nearest neighbor algorithm to give a further compare of the similarity of condition attributes in the selected instances of the library, thus retrieving a similar design instance giving reference for the new design.According to characteristics of multi-level analysis and verification of simulation analysis of composite component, we researched the prediction method of the mechanical properties of ply, forecasting methods of laminates allowable value and finite element simulation method of component analysis, and gives the computational model and analysis model of them. Determining the mechanical properties of composite materials by the results of prediction and simulation evaluation, we can compare them with prediction or test results and can give the evaluation of the feasibility of the design results. Based on the above theories and methods, combined with composite materials design method, using VC++ as the programming language, SQL Server 2000 as database support system, CATIA, ABAQUS and ANSYS as the CAD technology platform, we develop the prototype system in the Windows XP environment, which valid the feasibility of above technologies.
