The premise of triboelectrostatic separation is make the useful minerals and gangue minerals with opposite charges, how to make sure the mineral particles have more and evenly electric charge which is the main factor of separation efficiency and minerals capacity, and this is also the core problem of the triboelectrotatic separation technology’s large-scale apply in production, so the research of friction charge method is very important in triboelectrostatic separation. It has been proved that mineral particles motion by air currents is a good friction charging method. Using this method can make sure the minerals have enough charge, and it also suit a lot kind of minerals. Expect the mineral properties and operating parameters, friction device’s structure also have a big influence of the friction charging, so the research of air-solid phase movement in airflow friction device have great theoretical significance and practice value.On the basic of analyses the influence factors of minerals friction charged by air currents, the paper establishes equations of the Air-solid two phase flow in friction device, through contrast the result of different structure friction device, we design four kinds of friction devices, such as impact type airflow friction device, saw tooth wave type airflow friction device, sine wave type airflow friction device, and declining board airflow friction device. The structural parameters and operate parameters of four different kinds airflow friction device were been researched by numerical simulation, and we have used modern high-speed photography technology to empirically the simulation results. The numerical simulation results show that, all of the impact type airflow friction device, saw tooth wave type airflow friction device, sine wave type airflow friction device, and declining board airflow friction device can make the mineral particles happen frequently and severe friction collision, which is good for the mineral particles’friction charge. The charging effects of the four different friction devices are different, the impact type airflow friction device can make sure all the mineral particles happen friction collision; the friction collision in saw tooth wave type airflow friction device was the most dramatic, but the latter is easy to deposit; for the sine wave type friction device, due to the smooth curve of the friction plate, the mineral accumulation is relatively small, but the effect of the friction collision is also poor; the declining board friction device is the best structure model for the particle dispersion. However, we found that some of the air friction charging devices in this study has the phenomenon of mineral accumulation, which requires us to optimize the structure design in the future work.
