Extraction of flavonoid from Propolis by supercritical carbon dioxide was studied in this work. Firstly, different entrainers, such as alcoholic entrainer, mixed entrainer, esteric entrainer, ketonic entrainer and no entrainer, were investigated. Their relationship as follow: alcoholic entrainer > mixed entrainer > esteric entrainer > ketonic entrainer > no entrainer.Secondly, supercritical CO2 extraction process of flavonoid by was researched with flavonoid as an index. The influencing factors such as kind and concentration of entrainers, extracting pressure, temperature, CO2 flow rate and time on extraction rate of flavonoid were investigated.Lastly, on the basis of the single experiments, the Optimal process conditions were obtained by orthogonal test, namely, extracting pressure 24 MPa, extracting temperature 50℃, extracting time 3 h, CO2 flow rate 10 L/min, 95% alcohol as the entrainer and the mass ration of the entrainer to feed 10%. The Flavonoid content is 6.4% under the optimal process condition. The results show that with comparison to the conventional solvent extraction process, although the supercritical fluid extraction process in the flavonoid content is no advantage, but it has the shorter extraction time, lower extraction temperature, fewer impurities, and retained the propolis natural color, smell, taste and other characteristics. So the supercritical fluid extraction process of flavonolid is still advantages in medicine, cosmetics and other sectors.
