Electroslag Furnace is a kind of especial smelt equipment which use remelting electricity melt inserting residue pool's self-cost pole. The melt liquid will rime Electroslag ingot in water-cooling crystal implement through Electroslag liquid's washing. Electroslag Furnace is a necessary equipment in especial steel factory. Electroslag Furnace's structure is complex, and has too many parts. So traditional 2D design method will make the designers do much complex work. The design assignment is heavy and inefficient.Parametric design and Feature Molding technology are the two important technologies in subsequent development of CAD. The parametric design technology is favor of establishment and management of products and it can improve design efficiency of products. The product feature model established by Feature Modeling technology describes the product from the each stage in life, and provides whole information of the product. Every system can gain its information from product mold and this can satisfied the requirement of CAD/CAM/CAE systemThe paper does function analytics in detail according to the characteristic of Electroslag Furnace product at first, and the paper marks off some function modules. Then it finishes Electroslag Furnace's structure model configuration in order to satisfy customer's requirement according to the mapped relationship among function model, principle model and structure model. So it will do good preparation for the parameterized design. This parameterized system chooses Visual C++as the programme design language, and it chooses Access2003 to be data-base management system. This parameterized system achieves data communion among each platform through transferring SolidWorks API and using ADO data-base accessing technology. The paper exploits an Electroslag Furnace parametric design system based on Product Family Model to improve Electroslag Furnace's design environment. It greatly improved the design efficiency of Electroslag Furnace. This parameterized system has friendly user interface, it can achieve Electroslag Furnace modularized choosing and parameterized design of Electroslag Furnace's parts. And it can also achieve the linkage between 3D model and 2D drawing. In addition, it can achieve Electroslag Furnace's sub module assemblage. This system manages module information, model data and drawing cyclostyle in parameterized manage data-base due to data-base manage system of rapid response platform. It also achieves data's passing in and out, and it is convenient to data share. The rapid response platform finally carry out the rapid response of market and the satisfaction of customer's individuation requirement, and achieve the rapid design of Electroslag Furnace product.
