The results of laboratory and field experiments show that using the soil stabilizer can reinforce the typical silty clay in central Henan Province, and achieve the strength of expressway subbase quality requirements, etc.. The successful application of this technology can use local materials, and adopt the local soil of the project as the main road materials, so it greatly reduces the amount of the traditional semi-rigid materials,such as cement,lime and sand-gravel material etc., and avoids long distance transportation of materials. Then, it saves energy, protects the resources and environment, speeds up the project construction progress, and especially in the region of no or a lack of sand-gravel material, it can obviously reduces the projects cost and is significant for our country's road sustainable development.Selecting test section on the Zhengyao expressway of Henan Province, the subbase chose the project local soil samples as the material, and use the soil stabilizer to reinforce it. First, according to liquid and plastic limits, this paper measured the soil samples for silty clay with low liquid limit; and then through the compaction test and the unconfined compression test, and based on engineering cost, this paper studied the best mix proportion of mixture; afterwards, through the mixture's split test, delay test of the unconfined compressive strength and shrinkage test etc., this paper studied pavement performance of the mixture of the best mix proportion, and carried out the test section's field paveing, and discussed construction technology of the fine grained soil stabilized by soil stabilizer; finally, introducing mineral polymerization theory, by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), analyzed curing mechanism of the soil stabilizer in detail.The compactness and drilling sample of the test section have been measured to meet the requirements. The results of long-age specimens' strength test have show that the growth of the pavement deuteric strength is very excellent. After opening to traffic, the pavement hasn't appeared the crack and rutting of common diseases, etc.. So the pavement performance is better. Through experiments, this paper has carried out exploratory studies about curing mechanism for the fine grained soil stabilized by soil stabilizer, systematically studied the mix proportion and pavement performance of the mixture, and put forward corresponding construction technology, provided a certain basis and reference for similar engineering application.
